Abstract
The polarizing properties of the Compton effect in the field of a circularly polarized laser wave are considered. The behavior of the electron spin has been analyzed for the case of a nonlinear Compton effect. The transition from longitudinal to transverse polarization has been demonstrated. A complete set of formulas has been derived to describe the polarization of the final electron in a nonlinear case.
