A Method of Reproducing the Triple Point of Mercury in the Working Standards of the Unit of Temperature

Abstract

A method of replacing the triple point of mercury by the melting point of gallium when reproducing the ITS-90 International Temperature Scale is considered. A method of estimating the systematic error and of determining the conditions under which the method can be used is proposed.
