Structural Effects of Intercalation in [LiAl2(OH)6]Cl ⋅ xH2Os (1H, 7Li, 27Al NMR)

Abstract

1H, 7Li, and 27Al NMR was used to study [LiAl2(OH)6]Cl ⋅ xH2O systems (x = 0, 1.6, and 2.8). At larger x values, the amplitude of the librational motion of the hydroxyl groups increases and the chloride ions are disordered, while the localization of the lithium and aluminum ions does not change.
