Abstract
Theoretical formulas for calculating the probabilities of radio-signal screening and reflections as well as their absence in a time interval not smaller than the specified interval are obtained for the mid-latitude sporadic ionospheric E layer as a function of the time of the day, carrier frequency, and the current a priori information. The theoretical formulas are compared with experimental data.
