Asymmetric hydrogenations of diketopiperazines

Abstract

The dehydrodiketopiperazines 6 undergo face selective hydrogenation with a 5% palladium on carbon catalyst to give the diketopiperazines 7 in high yield with excellent diastereoisomeric ratios (>97%).
