Abstract
Previous studies have shown that the largest γ-ray detector to date, EGRET, does not have useful polarization sensitivity. We have explored here some improved approaches to analyzing γ-ray pair production events, leading to important gains in sensitivity to polarization. The performance of the next generation γ-ray instrument GLAST is investigated using a detailed Monte Carlo simulation of the complete detector.
