Abstract

It is defined the magnetic interaction energy between two superconductor pieces situated in a magnetic field by using the elastic coupling through the flux lines. On this basis, it is shown that a force between a superconducting material and a source of magnetic field is always repulsive, the force between a ferromagnetic material and a source of magnetic field is always attractive and a force between a normal metal and a source of time-varying magnetic field is always repulsive.
