Abstract

We present a 67 year-old female patient with twosynchronous adenocarcinomas in a solitary kidney. Sheunderwent thorough clinical and radiographicevaluation. Selective angiography proved to be themost reliable examination in preoperative diagnosis.Double partial nephrectomy was performed and thepatient has normal renal function and no evidence ofrecurrence 27 months postoperatively. Partialnephrectomy in patients with one tumor in a solitarykidney is well documented, though we believe thatpartial nephrectomy can also be performed in selectedcases with multifocal tumors.
