Abstract
The synthesis, characterization, and mechanistic investigation of the coordination compounds of ruthenium with aminoguanidino- substituted ligands are described. These compounds usually possess octahedral, six-coordinate geometry as opposed to the square planar arrangement of the ligand of dicarboxylatoplatinum(II) “carboplatin” or cis-diamminodichloroplatinum(II) – “cis-platin”. The electronic and i.r. absorption spectra of these new chelates are discussed.
