On Combinatorial Papers of König and Steinitz

Abstract

The graph-theoretical theorem of D. König on the existence of a 1-factor in a regular bipartite graph of 1914 was already proved 20 years earlier in the dissertation of E. Steinitz in Breslau (1894) in the language of configurations.
