Abstract
The decomposition of methylene blue in aqueous alkaline solution is described. The rate equation is of the form: \( - \frac{{d\left[ {MB^ - } \right]}}{{dt}} = k\left[ {OH^ - } \right]\left[ {MB^ - } \right]\), where k = 9.0 × 10-4 mol- [dm3s-1 at 20°C and] = 0.5 mol dm-3.
