Small Comets in the High Atmosphere

Abstract

Recent claims of small icy comets disintegrating in the high atmosphere point to a component of comets in the form of loose aggregates of dust. This could be understood in terms of Lyttleton;'s theory of comet formation by accretion of interstellar grains.
