Abstract
Fluorodechlorination of polychlorofluorobenzenes with potassium fluoride in the presence of phase-transfer catalysts was investigated. “Onium” catalysts [hexaethylguanidinium chloride, tetra(diethylamino)phosphonium bromide] take part in the stabilization of the intermediate σ-complex. Catalytic role of polyethers (tetraglyme, 18-crown-6) in the fluorodechlorination process is limited to increasing the fluoride ion concentration.
