Panspermia according to Hoyle

Abstract

Fred Hoyle's involvement in panspermia, recasting an ancient idea in a modern scientific framework marks an important turning point in the fortunes of this theory. Panspermia is discussed nowadays as a serious alternative to a purely terrestrial origin of life.
