Welcome to the first issue of the journal under our new publisher Springer-Nature.
There are some differences in the journal in that it is an online journal accessible to SRS members as part of their membership dues, with an additional cost if a member wants a print version. Articles are published online as soon as they are typeset and are found in the “Online first” section of all volumes and issues as “Articles not assigned to an issue”. The prior issues of the journal are being digitized and added to the site.
The production schedule is also different with issues published in even months. With the transition the manuscripts accepted in Elsevier Editorial Manager have to be typeset in the Springer system and have not been typeset in chronological order from first accepted which affects the first issue’s manuscripts.
This issue is late due to the typesetting schedule, which means that the paper edition is also late. You will receive an e-mail TOC (Table of contents) when an issue is published, usually in the week before the publication date, with the paper edition being delivered 7–10 days later.
I would like to sincerely thank the reviewers and Deputy Editors for their patience and help during this transition. We have had to deal with two Editorial Manager systems, and all the manuscripts will be in the Springer site when the Elsevier site closes at the end of the month.
I look forwards to working with our new publisher as we continue to grow and expand the journal,
Editor-in-Chief, Spine Deformity
