Cereal Research Communications is celebrating its 50th anniversary of foundation. Immense thanks to all authors, editors, reviewers, and readers for keeping this journal alive for half a century.
Since its foundation in 1973, CRC became a platform for breeders, geneticists, physiologists, pathologists and agronomists for exchanging new results in the fields of their interest. This is in line with a statement written in the Opening notes of the first issue: Knowledge, diligence, better understanding of each other and the permanent circulation of useful thoughts and ideas make a well organised international cooperation. This is clearly fulfilled by Cereal Research Communications.
It is up to all of us, to continue this success story. One of the main intentions for the time to come is to maintain and further increase the attractiveness of the periodical. A key measurement for this is the citation index. In order to stay competitive against an increasing extent of other journals, we must further increase the quality of the articles to be published. This will be the primary responsibility of the Editorial Board.
Looking forward to a successful future of the journal Cereal Research Communications.
Andreas Börner.
Editor in Chief.
