Abstract
Tenebrio molitor Larvae (Tenebrio molitor L) is one of the most important insects to human being as a protein source. The present work investigated the enantiomeric performance of tetraconazole in Tenebrio molitor L by dietary exposure. Tetraconazole concentration increased rapidly initially and declined slightly from 0.43 to 0.15 mg kg− 1 (S-tetraconazole) and 0.44 to 0.26 mg kg− 1 (R-tetraconazole) in Tenebrio molitor L in the first 3 days in the exposure group of 20 mg kg− 1 in wheat bran, and then increased steeply until the equilibrium in the 14th day with a level of 0.41 mg kg− 1 for S-tetraconazole and 0.68 mg kg− 1 for R-tetraconazole. In 2 mg kg− 1 group, tetraconazole was collected in the initial 3 days with R-tetraconazole preference and obtain an metabolism balance in the following days. The enantiomers in body and feces were of different concentrations with enantioselective performance in Tenebrio molitor L; and no bio-accumulation was observed in this study.
