Abstract

The sub lethal effects of Biscaya®, Neem Azal® and Tondexir® were investigated on life parameters of Habrobracon hebetor, Say (Hymenoptera: Braconidae) in two method: contact and oral in laboratory condition. The first, the sub-lethal concentration of these treatments as contact method were determined 0.0063, 0.652, and 13.91 mg/L on adult of this wasp and 1.08, 5.35, and 0.213 mg/L on larvae of Ephestia kuehniella, Zeller (Lepidoptera: Pyralidae) as toxicant bait of this parasitoid. The highest survival rate in contact method was observed in control (0.67) and Tondexir®(0.55) and the least survival rate was in Biscaya®(0.41). The parameters of net reproductive rate (R0) and intrinsic rate of increase (rm) population of this wasp have decreased in total treatments in compared with control. The highest R0 after control belong to Tondexir® (103.21 ± 8.98 female/female/generation). The highest rm was on wasps that treated with Neem Azal® in contact method (0.25 ± 0.006 day−1) that statistically different from control (0.26 ± 0.004 day−1). However, this parameter was significantly decreased in wasps treated with other insecticides. The Neem Azal® and Tondexir® were categorized as harmless insecticides in bioassay test and sub-lethal effect of this treatments on life parameters showed that its suitability in IPM in crops.
