Abstract

In recent years, the development of digital music operations has gained worldwide attention and contributed to the progress of related research. However, no review article provides a systematic literature review of the extant literature related to digital music operation research. In this study, we conducted a scientometric analysis of global research trends and structure in the field of digital music from 2005 to 2022 using CiteSpace software. A scientific knowledge map of this research was generated by analyzing 417 literature records in the Web of Science core database. The results of the study reveal the evolutionary trends in the development of this research field until October 2022. The study found that existing research on digital music has focused on piracy issues, digital music product pricing strategies, and sales models, music recommendation systems, etc.; new trends in digital music research are about new approaches to copyright management, how to promote technological progress and product optimization, and the exploration of profit models. The study provides the reader with a broad understanding of salient research themes, trends, and patterns in global digital music research.
