Porous nickel oxide derived from Ni(OH)2: preparation, characterization, and catalytic applications

Graphical abstract

Mesoporous nickel oxide was prepared and explored for hydrogenation of furfural to furfuryl alcohol, which showed about 73% conversion and 90% selectivity.
