Alte Patienten mit Kopfverletzung brauchen eine Schädel-CT

Im Alter ist das Gehirn besonders empfindlich für Verletzungen: Auch ein nur mildes Schädel-Hirn-Trauma (SHT) geht bei älteren Menschen nicht selten mit intrazerebralen und subduralen Blutungen einher. Um operationsbedürftige Verletzungen nicht zu übersehen, sollte der Arzt frühzeitig eine zerebrale Bildgebung veranlassen.
