Abstract

Penile cancer is almost always an aggressive squamous cell carcinoma that typically develops on the glans or inner foreskin. Given its low incidence in Europe of 1/100,000 males, it represents a rare entity in clinical urological routine. In 2015, only 65 cases of penile cancer were newly diagnosed in Austria. Due to the rarity of this disease and the associated problems in diagnosis and therapy, a number of countries have centralized the treatment of penile cancer.
