Abstract
The consequences of atherosclerosis remain the most common cause of death worldwide. Statins form the basis of any lipid-lowering therapy but are reaching their limits in terms of efficacy and safety. PCSK9 antibodies and the PCSK9 translation inhibitor Inclisiran, have proven to be innovative lipid-lowering therapies. In addition, new therapies for lowering lipoprotein (a) are expected.
