Der Großteil der differenzierten Schilddrüsenkarzinome lässt sich mit einem multimodalen und multidisziplinären Therapiekonzept kurativ behandeln.

Es besteht ein breiter Konsens darüber, dass eine risikoangepasste Behandlung des differenzierten Schilddrüsenkarzinoms ein anzustrebendes Ziel ist, dass die Patienten einerseits keinen unnötigen therapeutischen Verfahren ausgesetzt werden sollen und andererseits die besten Voraussetzungen für ein langes, gesundes Leben gegeben sind.

Attraktiv im individualisierten Behandlungskonzept erscheint die Miteinbeziehung des Patientenwunsches im Sinne seines individuellen Sicherheitsbedürfnisses. Dies in Ergänzung zu Histopathologie, postoperativem Thyreoglobulin und idealerweise postoperativer Radiojodbildgebung. Die aktuellsten Publikationen zeigen, dass die Diskussion im Sinne des Patienten fruchtbar weitergeführt wird.

Abstract

The majority of differentiated thyroid carcinomas can be treated curatively with a multimodal and multidisciplinary therapeutic concept.

There is a broad consensus that risk-adapted treatment of differentiated thyroid carcinoma is a goal to strive for, that patients should be given the best conditions for a long, healthy life while not being exposed to unnecessary therapeutic procedures.

An attractive aspect of the individualized treatment concept is the inclusion of the patient’s wishes in terms of his or her individual need for safety. This is in addition to histopathology, postoperative thyroglobulin, and ideally postoperative radioiodine imaging. The most recent publications show that fruitful discussion continues in the interest of the patient.
