Zusammenfassung
Das diabetische Fußsyndrom (DFS) ist eine multifaktorielle Erkrankung, die kausal nur interdisziplinär erfolgreich behandelt werden kann. Wenn eine Wunde am Fuß nach vier bis sechs Wochen keine deutliche Heilungstendenz aufweist, sollte der Patient in ein Fuß- oder Wundzentrum überwiesen werden. In erster Linie muss durch präventive Maßnahmen wie die Stoffwechseloptimierung der Glucose, regelmäßige Kontrollen und Schulungen von Risikopatienten sowie podologische Komplexbehandlung die Entstehung von Wunden vermieden werden. Nur so lassen sich großes Leid und hohe Kosten vermeiden.
