Abstract
The study presents estimate of length-weight relationships (LWRs) for five less common fish species (Gonorynchus abbreviatus, Antennarius striatus, Xenocephalus elongatus, Psenes arafurensis, Triacanthodes anomalus) from the East China Sea, based on trawl fisheries resource surveys conducted between 2010 and 2022. All specimens were measured for standard length (SL) and total weight (TW), with a precision of 0.1 cm and 0.1 g, respectively. The LWRs were calculated using the model W = aLb. All r2 values exceeded 0.95, which falls within the expected range. Additionally, the estimated value of b ranged from 2.633 to 2.980. This study provides the first estimates of LWRs for five fish species and four genera, while also documenting a new maximum SL of 32.4 cm for X. elongatus.
