Data Science and Engineering (DSE) Journal has been a beacon of scholarly excellence since its inception in 2016, publishing cutting-edge research in data technologies and exploring innovative data-intensive applications. Over the years, we have built a reputation for rigorous peer review, high-quality publications, and impactful contributions to the field. DSE Journal has been indexed by almost all important indexes including SCOPUS with 2022 CiteScore 8.8, Emerging Sources Citation Index (ESCI) with IF 4.2, and EI.

On this occasion, I am thrilled to announce a significant change in DSE’s leadership. Professor Elena Ferrari, a valued member of our editorial board since 2016, has stepped up as the new Editor-in-Chief. Professor Ferrari's impeccable research credentials, leadership experience, and deep understanding of the journal’s ethos make her the ideal candidate to lead DSE into its next phase of growth and development. Under Professor Ferrari’s stewardship, we are confident that DSE will continue to flourish as a premier platform for showcasing groundbreaking research in data science and engineering. Her vision and commitment to excellence will definitely elevate the journal to new heights and expand its reach and impact within the academic community. Her bio follows.

As we look ahead to this exciting new era, I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to all those who have contributed to the success of DSE over the years. Our readers, authors, reviewers, editorial board members, and staff from Springer Nature and CCF TCDB have been instrumental in shaping the journal into what it is today. Your dedication, expertise, and hard work have been the driving force behind DSE’s growth and reputation.

Especially, on behalf of the entire journal team, I wish to convey our deepest thanks to Prof. Timos Sellis for his outstanding stewardship of the journal over the past four years. As the successor to the highly accomplished founding Editor-in-Chief, Professor Elisa Bertino, Prof. Sellis took on the mantle as the journal’s subsequent EiC and played a pivotal role in its establishment and growth. His unwavering commitment to excellence and quality has been a remarkable force propelling the journal forward, and his collaboration as a co-editor has been truly exceptional. I sincerely hope that Prof. Sellis’s involvement with DSE will persist, as his wealth of experience and forward-thinking insights are invaluable assets to us all.

In conclusion, I would like to reiterate our commitment to maintaining the highest standards of scholarly publishing and providing a vibrant forum for the exchange of ideas and knowledge in the field of data science and engineering. With Professor Ferrari at the helm, we are poised to take DSE to even greater heights and contribute significantly to the advancement of this rapidly evolving field.

Thank you for your continued support and engagement with the DSE Journal. We look forward to an exciting and productive future together.
