Samenvatting

Voorkamerfibrillatie (VKF) is na extrasystole de meest voorkomende hartritmestoornis.1 Eén zesde van de CVA’s treedt op bij patiënten met VKF.1 Doordat een derde van de VKF-patiënten asymptomatisch is of doordat de symptomen niet onderkend worden, wordt de ziekte vaak pas gediagnosticeerd naar aanleiding van een CVA.1
