Preventiestrategieën voor burn-out tijdens de artsenopleiding

Een beschrijvend en kwalitatief onderzoek

Samenvatting

Burn-out bij huisartsen is een ernstig probleem.1 Reeds in 2005 werd geschat dat 10% van de Belgische huisartsen aan burn-out leed, wat bevestigd wordt in de ons omringende landen.2 In Frankrijk werd een burn-outprevalentie van 5% gemeten en in twaalf Europese landen haalde 12% van de ondervraagde artsen hoge scores op de drie dimensies van burn-out.3,4 Bij een prevalentie van 27,5% voor emotionele uitputting, 25,6% voor depersonalisatie en 12,8% voor het gevoel van verminderde bekwaamheid werden geen statistisch significante verschillen geregistreerd tussen hospitaalartsen en huisartsen, tenzij een hogere graad van emotionele uitputting bij huisartsen ten opzichte van hospitaalartsen.5
