Sommario
La frequente associazione tra PCOS e insulino-resistenza offre l’opportunità di intervenire sulle abitudini alimentari delle pazienti per migliorare i sintomi della patologia e prevenire così l’insorgenza delle patologie cronico-degenerative ad essa associate. La gestione nutrizionale dovrebbe essere incentrata sulla perdita di peso, con particolare attenzione a favorire il consumo di alimenti ricchi in fibra, cereali a basso indice glicemico, acidi grassi mono- e polinsaturi e ridurre il consumo di alimenti ricchi in acidi grassi saturi e trans-idrogenati.
