Valutazione della funzione testicolare in età pediatrica e prepuberale

Sommario

In età pediatrica e prepuberale le cellule del Sertoli sono attivamente proliferanti e metabolicamente attive. I livelli sierici di ormone anti-mülleriano (AMH) e di inibina B, entrambi prodotti dalle cellule del Sertoli, rappresentano dei marcatori della funzione testicolare particolarmente utili. Già in età pediatrica e prepuberale, infatti, essi presentano livelli alterati in numerose patologie andrologiche. In età pediatrica e prepuberale, AMH e inibina B, insieme all’ecometria testicolare, potrebbero essere utilizzati per la diagnosi precoce delle disfunzioni testicolari.
