New Single-cylinder Engine Generation from AVL

Based on 60 years of single-cylinder engine experience, AVL developed the new single-cylinder engine generation. The new modular engine architecture covers all required large engine bore sizes in the range of 150 up to 520 mm, considering different liquid and gaseous fuel types. The engine flexibility allows to install different cylinder units for testing with minimum effort, changes and short time frames.

60 Years of AVL Single-cylinder Engines

AVL has a long tradition in the design and development of large engines. At present, and for the past decades, AVL is and has been involved in a huge number of large engine development projects with a wide range of engine sizes and diverse combustion concepts. Fuel and emission reduction will become even more substantial, and time for technology awareness, acceptance and implementation will become shorter.
