The U.S. Trade Representative (USTR) recently veto an International Trade Commission (ITC) order that would banned importation in the United States of certain Apple smartphones and tablet computers. It was held that some of the Apple products infringe a Samsung essential patent covering technology essential to the standard and subject to voluntary license on FRAND commitment.
