An event is serious (based on the ICH definition) when the patient outcome is:

* life-threatening
* hospitalisation
* disability
* congenital anomaly
* other medically important event
In a retrospective, non-randomised, uncontrolled study, comprising 11 patients, who underwent bronchotracheal stenting management by rigid bronchoscopy under extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) support at a hospital in Belgium between January 2009 and December 2019 in Belgium, one patient [age and sex not stated] was described; the patient developed tracheal bleeding following anticoagulant therapy with IV bolus infusion of heparin [unfractionated heparin; dosage and duration of treatment to reaction onset not stated]. The patient was treated with transfusion of 2 units of red blood cells [outcome not stated].
