Abstract

A microstrip elliptic-function Low-Pass filter (LPF) utilizing a Radial Stub (RS) is proposed having an attributes of sharp roll-off and wide rejection bandwidth. The proposed LPF is explored based on a proper ideal lumped equivalent model circuit. The proposed fabricated LPF having a cutoff frequency of 2.4 GHz are of dimension 0.505 λc × 0.217 λc (where λc is the guided wavelength at the cutoff frequency) shows a magnificent wide out of band from 3 GHz to 15 GHz at 10 dB. The filters are evaluated by design, experimental and simulation with good agreement.
