Abstract
The present study provides an updated overview on the phytochemical profile and bioactivities of Curcuma aromatica Salisb., and is accomplished by obtaining relevant scientific data from renowned databases such as Web of Science, Scopus, ScienceDirect, Elsevier, PubMed, Google Scholar, and so on. To date, a total of 46 compounds have been isolated and identified, including 25 sesquiterpenoids, 03 labdane diterpenoids, 03 homosester terpenoids, 05 curcuminoids, 03 steroids, 01 phenolic compound, 01 glycol compound, 01 alkyl pyrazine, and 04 aliphatic compounds. Various biological reports have shown that C. aromatica is credited with diverse bioactive compounds exhibiting antimicrobial, antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, anti-diabetic, antitumor, antidepressant, hepatoprotective, larvicidal, and insecticidal properties.
