Abstract
Caloplaca indica, a new species is described from the Eastern Himalaya, India. It is discovered from the states of Arunachal Pradesh and West Bengal. It is characterized by the greyish UV+ orange thallus, biatorine to lecanorine apothecia, amphithecium with pale brown crystals and three locular ascospores.
