Continental | Acquisition of Kathrein Automotive Completed

After antitrust authorities cleared the transaction, Continental has officially acquired Kathrein Automotive GmbH. The incorporation of the automotive division of the antenna and satellite technology manufacturer Kathrein enables Continental to expand its expertise by adding an important key segment: Intelligent vehicle antennae are the basis of future-proof connectivity concepts, both within the vehicle and beyond. Possible application scenarios range from remote access keys via navigational applications to telematic solutions. Johann Hiebl, Head of the Body & Security and Infotainment & Connectivity business units at Continental, said that the over 1000 new colleagues gained provide an invaluable pool of experience and expertise in the field of vehicle connectivity. The supplier is incorporating all Kathrein Automotive employees and the all eight locations in Brazil, China, Germany, Mexico, Portugal and the USA.
