The Intelligent Fuel Cell Plug-in Hybrid Drive System of the Mercedes-Benz GLC F-Cell

Daimler is introducing the Mercedes-Benz GLC F-Cell, the first model of a new generation of fuel cell vehicles, to the market. Thanks to new components and configuration, the unit is more efficient and compact than its predecessor. Plug-in technology, a 13.8-kWh lithium-ion battery and sophisticated driving programs give the SUV a special position.

Development status

Fuel cell technology is an integral part of the Daimler drivetrain strategy. The benefits are obvious: high range with short refueling times and at the same time a wide range of application possibilities from passenger cars up to city buses. Over 12 million km have already been traveled in vehicles with fuel cell drive such as the Mercedes-Benz B-Class F-Cell and the Citaro FuelCell-Hybrid city bus.
