LED Modules for High-resolution Matrix Headlamps

In lighting technology, the trend is toward intelligent headlamps with high flexibility. Osram Continental has developed an energy-efficient Smartrix HD module that enables matrix headlamps with high luminous intensity and moderate complexity.

Development of Adaptive Driving Beam

The market for vehicle lighting is currently in a transition period as it moves toward semiconductor technologies. Development of front headlamps with Adaptive Driving Beam (ADB) in particular has progressed at an enormous pace [1]. There have been especially rapid advances in series-ready technologies such as Digital Mirror Device (DMD) and in various research studies on increasing the resolution for AFS (Adaptive Frontlighting Systems), of which the most prominent relates to Eviyos active LED matrix chip technology, Figure 1.
