Automated Transfer of Real-world Scenarios into the Virtual World

The development of diverse assistance functions has been intensified in recent years with the vision of automated driving. Highly automated driving on motorways is to become reality before the end of this decade. For vehicle development, above all, the safety-relevant assistance systems are important in this context — as they are intended to respond earlier and better than the human driver. Furthermore, their functionality has to be guaranteed in practically any conceivable situation, as reliability will be a major aspect with respect to customers’ acceptance of the new technologies.

ADAS development: new challenges

For the development of assistance functions this implies that the functionality of the individual components as well as their operation within a system has to be determined as early as possible.
