Diese chinesische Kohortenstudie untersuchte Parkinson-Patienten mit und ohne metabolischem Syndrom hinsichtlich der Entwicklung kognitiver Störungen im Sinne eines Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI) oder einer Parkinson-Demenz (PDD). Die Ergebnisse zeigen, dass das Vorliegen eines metabolischen Syndroms signifikant mit der Entwicklung kognitiver Defizite bei Parkinson-Patienten assoziiert ist.
