In dieser Studienübersicht berichten Axel Haarmann und Mathias Buttmann über neue Aspekte der PML-Risikostratifizierung unter Natalizumab und stellen Mitoxantron und Daclizumab als besonders wichtige Therapieoptionen für einen Teil der Patienten mit sekundär progredienter MS vor, auch wenn Mitoxantron gefährliche und Daclizumab lästige, aber behandelbare Nebenwirkungen verursachen kann. Daten zum hohen therapeutischen Potenzial von Anti-CD20-Antikörpern und neue Empfehlungen zur MR-Diagnostik der MS runden den hochaktuellen Streifzug unserer Autoren durch die Literatur ab.
