Das Antibiotikum Nitrofurantoin wird zur Therapie von Patienten mit unkompliziertem Harnwegsinfekt eingesetzt. Ein 75-jähriger Mann mit persistierender Infektion nahm es einen Monat ein und entwickelte eine Belastungsdyspnoe, weshalb er beim Pneumologen vorstellig wurde.
