Deutschland ist ein Land mit niedriger Tuberkuloseinzidenz. Mobilität und Migration lassen die Länder der Erde aber immer näher zusammenrücken. Um das Ziel der Weltgesundheitsorganisation (WHO) – die Elimination der Tuberkulose (TB) bis 2050 – zu erreichen, müssen spezifische Strategien für Länder mit hoher ebenso wie für Länder mit niedriger TB-Inzidenz entwickelt und umgesetzt werden.
