Ablationstherapie: Kryoballon zieht mit Goldstandard gleich

Katheterablationen mittels Hitze (Hochfrequenzstrom) und Kälte (Kryoballon) haben sich bei paroxysmalem Vorhofflimmern in der bis dato größten randomisierten Vergleichsstudie bezüglich ihrer Erfolgsraten als ebenbürtig erwiesen. Erfreulich ist dieses Ergebnis für Studienleiter Prof. Karl-Heinz Kuck vor allem mit Blick auf die einfachere Kryoballon-Technik.
