Eine geringe Muskelmasse von zudem schlechter Qualität kann bei adipösen Frauen mit metastasiertem Brustkrebs zu einem erhöhten Sterberisiko beitragen. Gilt das auch für Patientinnen, deren Krebs nicht metastasiert ist? Immerhin wurde in einer US-Studie bei 34 % in dieser Patientengruppe eine Sarkopenie festgestellt.
