Wird bei duktalem Carcinoma in situ (DCIS) nach der brusterhaltenden Operation eine adjuvante Radiotherapie durchgeführt, sinkt das Rezidivrisiko. Jedoch sollte die Bestrahlung nicht zu lange hinausgezögert werden, wie sich in einer Studie gezeigt hat.
