  1. Die Übersetzungen der neun ausgewählten Kasuistiken stammen vom Autor und sind ausschließlich für diesen Aufsatz angefertigt worden. Bei der Wahl des Stils wurde besonderer Wert auf gute Lesbarkeit gewählt. Deshalb werden manche antike Termini nicht in ihrer Grundbedeutung, sondern in einer modernen Version präsentiert. Das Kürzel "K" hinter den Fallberichten bezeichnet die Position des Texts innerhalb der noch heute verwendeten 20-bändigen Ausgabe der Werke Galens von Karl Gottlob Kühn, Leipzig (Erscheinungszeitraum 1821-1833).
