Plötzlich auftretendes Fieber, Schüttelfrost sowie Kopf- und Gliederschmerzen – wer denkt bei diesen unspezifischen Symptomen schon an eine Malaria? Fragen Sie den Patienten deshalb auch, ob er sich in einem Malariagebiet aufgehalten hat. Wird die Malaria tropica nicht sofort diagnostiziert und behandelt, ist sie lebensbedrohlich.
